For theatre-lovers, Downtown is the place to be. If you’ve never checked out MadLab Theatre and Gallery, you are missing out. MadLab is a non-profit hive of artistic goodness, which produces seven to eight original productions each year. This month, that production is Patrick McLaughlin’s dark drama, Until He Wasn’t.
This story of violence, power and infatuation revolves around the mysterious Colin Bayley, whose charms drew in the four people who tell their stories of their relationship with the seemingly perfect man. The show runs October 14 - 15 and October 21 - 22 at the MadLab Theatre at 227 N. Third Street. Tickets are $10 - $15, and can be purchased here.
If you love to laugh, you’ll want to check out Tuesday Night Improv, a weekly show featuring the best of improv in Columbus. Each week features a different type of improv, including experimental improv, short-form improv, two-person improv troupes and long-form improv. Tickets are just $10 for the 8 p.m. show.
MadLab hosts other events through the year, including Full Frontal Nudity, a resident sketch/improv comedy troupe,; Theatre Roulette, the longest running short play festival in Central Ohio; and the Young Writers Short Play Festival. Visit the MadLab website for all the details.
