Kacey Brankamp, Business Recruiter, has worked with Capital Crossroads SID for seven years. She started her time with CCSID as Promotions Coordinator, helping to promote downtown as the best place to live, work and play. Her rapport with downtown retailers led to a change in duties with the implementation of a retail recruiting effort in January 2010.

In this capacity, Kacey develops ongoing relationships with hundreds of independent and local chain retailers and works with prospective retailers to connect them with available downtown retail space. She keeps her finger on the pulse of retail development downtown, offering information about demand in the area and supporting business owners considering a move downtown.

This year, Kacey's role was expanded to assisting small office users in finding available office space. As she does with retail spaces, Kacey works as a "matchmaker" of sorts, trying to match open retail or office space with those with retailers or small business owners in search of such space downtown.

"The transition was a natural one for me," explained Kacey. "Most of the retail space in downtown has office space above it as well as the same contact person for both office and retail."

This program includes monthly office space tours and a searchable database of office space on the DowntownColumbus.com website.
