Clevel Annual Meeting 2012 webOn November 28, Capital Crossroads SID held its annual meeting at 175 on the Park. This event offers Capital Crossroads the opportunity to recognize community members for their contributions to improving Downtown Columbus, celebrating the collaborative nature of downtown.

Columbus Downtown Development Corporation was recognized for Outstanding Aesthetic Contribution for the development and construction of the Bicentennial Pavilion in Columbus Commons. While the Outstanding Achievement Award was presented to the Columbus Symphony Orchestra for demonstrating a commitment to downtown by selecting the Bicentennial Pavilion as the new home for the popular Picnic with the Pops series.

Capital Crossroads chose to honor two organizations with the Outstanding Service Award. The City of Columbus, Department of Public Safety was recognized for streamlining the permitting process with the implementation of the Community Market Ordinance, and Franklin County Homeland Security and Justice Programs were awarded for their support and financial commitment to the Capital Crossroads SID security website.

“It takes commitment, collaboration and a lot of hard work to re-energize any urban center,” said Capital Crossroads SID Executive Director Cleve Ricksecker. “Each of these organizations exhibits the leadership needed to ensure that the downtown Columbus renaissance continues full steam ahead.”
