Do you find your work commute drudgery? What if there was a way to make those miles really count? The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission, COTA, car2go and CoGo have teamed up to challenge commuters to Make Your Miles Matter. The Make Your Miles Matter Challenge is designed to encourage commuters to vanpool, carpool, take the bus, use car2go, walk or bike when heading to work, fun or on errands. From June 1 - 30, when you use an alternate mode of transportation, simply log your miles on the challenge website.
By logging your miles, you become eligible for daily prizes, as well as a grand prize. So get commutin’; each commute logged improves your chance of winning. To log your trips, you must create an account at rideshareohio.com. Daily prizes include $20 gift cards from Kroger, North Market, Green Bean Delivery, Jeni’s, Cafe Brioso and more. Three grand prizes will be awarded during the Commuter Challenge Award Celebration on July 6 at Columbus Commons. These include a $500 Visa cash card, a $200 Visa cash card or free Chipotle for a year. Burritos, baby!
If you are quick on the draw, the first 100 people to log a commute beginning June 1 at 5 a.m. will win two Gateway Film Center movie tickets.
