Food Fight resizeFOODFIGHT! No, we are not reminiscing about the classic scene from Animal House. We are talking about fighting hunger, in the tastiest fashion imaginable. Especially if you like to eat out anyway. More than 200 bars, restaurants and food trucks in Central Ohio have joined the FOODFIGHT, donating five percent of their sales to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank’s Operation Feed on June 23 - 24.

On Tuesday, June 23, the fight starts with FOOD(truck)FIGHT from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Columbus Commons. You can nab grub from your favorite food trucks, including Ajumama, Blu Olive, En Place Foods, Kinetic, Pitabilities, Red Plate Blue Plate and Tortilla.

Then on Wednesday, June 24, hit your favorite brick and mortar establishments and continue the FOODFIGHT. No one will judge you for eating out for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s for a good cause. Each meal, coffee break and happy hour means another five percent for Operation Feed. There are a number of downtown locations participating, so consider hitting one or more of these spots: Cafe Brioso, Chintz Room, Dempsey’s Food & Spirits, Dirty Frank’s Hot Dog Palace, El Camino Inn, Grass Skirt Tiki Bar, Hungry Soul Cafe, Late Night Slice, Latitude 41, Little Palace, Milo’s Capitol Cafe, MoJoe Lounge/Cup O Joe, One Line Coffee, Tip Top Kitchen & Cocktails, Wolf’s Ridge Brewing, and Yellow Brick Pizza.

Last year’s FOODFIGHT raised more than 138,000 meals for those in need. Let’s see what kind of fight we can make this year.
