It’s hot out there, but that’s what summer is for, right? So far this summer, you might have grabbed drinks with friends on a restaurant patio along Gay Street, played kickball or caught a concert at Columbus Commons, or played a pick-up game of volleyball at the Discovery Beach sand volleyball court. Don’t believe for a minute that it’s time to stop, but it’s not too early to think a head of how to fill your days once the chill in the air finds us. What about joining a dodgeball or volleyball league? The Downtown YMCA invites you to dive into some fun with fall leagues.
Pull together a posse of friends and sign up for the Downtown YMCA indoor volleyball or dodgeball league. Heck, you could sign up for both since the leagues meet on different nights. Either way, you guarantee to stay active (and fit) through the fall, and afterward if you can’t bear for the evening to end, walk around the corner to The Elevator to grab a cold one and rehash the night’s play.
Don’t wait too long. Deadlines are right fast approaching. Get more info about the volleyball or dodgeball leagues by contacting Matthew Rice at matthew.rice@ymcacolumbus.org or (614) 224-1132 ext. 186.
After you find out all you need to know about the leagues, don’t forget to check out the rest of the Y’s digs. Did you know the Downtown YMCA has an indoor pool, a massage therapist, group fitness classes that will kick your arse, and trainers who will do the same—one on one? It’s also got a new pricing schedule to entice you to become a member. The other cool thing is that you know that your membership also helps address pressing social issues that the YMCA works on.
So, dig into some fun.
