It’s cool. It’s hot. It’s right downtown. This weekend, one of Columbus’ favorite summer traditions returns to the riverfront. Jazz & Rib Fest offers three days of cool jazz and hot ribs, all along the Scioto River. This year, you’ll find events in Bicentennial, West Bank and Genoa Parks; there’s no better backdrop around.
The festival runs July 22, 11 a.m. - 11 p.m.; July 23, 11 a.m. - 11 p.m.; and July 24, 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. With more than 40 jazz acts performing on three stages, you can get your jazz groove on all weekend long. For a complete line-up, just visit their website here.
All that grooving is bound to work up an appetite. Luckily there will be outrageously delicious ribs, chicken and more from 23 award-winning barbecue teams from around the country. They are competing for the title of “Best Ribs,” so they’re bound to bring their A-game. You won’t want to miss the chance to sample from as many spots as your tummy can handle.
Between all that eating and jazzing, you can also enjoy some family entertainment with games and activities from The Columbus Blue Jackets, The Columbus Crew and the Buckeye Mobile Tour. There is no cost for admission, a real boon for those who want to visit daily. See you Scioto-side this weekend.
