Columbus Symphony Brings Star Wars on Stage.Nearly 40 years ago, the classic movie hit the big screen, and now Columbus Symphony brings Star Wars on stage in a new way. On October 6, Star Wars in Concert offers audiences a super cool Star Wars experience with the movie that started it all, and you can be there. A New Hope, the first Star Wars film released in 1977, will show across a 40-foot screen suspended above the Columbus Symphony as they perform every note of John Williams’ Oscar-winning score—live on stage.

Legendary composer John Williams, well known for scoring all seven of the Star Wars films, began with 1977’s Star Wars: A New Hope, and he earned an Academy Award® for Best Original Score. His scores for The Empire Strikes BackReturn of the Jedi, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens each earned Oscar® nominations for Best Original Score. The only requirement for you? Just sit back, enjoy the show and the great music.

The big event takes place at the historic Ohio Theatre, which is a treat in of itself. But Columbus Symphony promises to delight Star Wars fans and symphony buffs alike.

Ticket Scoop

Before the Show

Want to grab some grub before the show? Good thinking, and we're here to help. If the kids come along, try Dirty Franks, and don’t forget the tater tots and cheese sauce. Pssst….they even offer adult-style slushy drinks. If your night out includes just you and a beau, nosh on some tacos and tequila at El Camino Inn, or fancy things up with cocktails and fine dining at DeNovo. Now, we wanted to offer up some choices, but just know plenty more are right downtown.
