The arts scene in Columbus continues to rise, and having CCAD in our backyard pushes things even higher. Next week, you get the chance to see the best of what CCAD student artists and designers have created at Chroma: Best of CCAD. These students represent the next generation of talent that will shape both culture and commerce. This annual juried art show features work from CCAD majors, CORE programs and first-year MFA students. And, you get all-access without paying a farthing for admission or parking. Score.
While the big day falls on May 9, you can enjoy some Pre-Chroma events on Saturday, May 5, including Saturday Morning Cartoons (11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. in the Canzani Screening Room) features work from students in the Animation and Illustration departments. Quick note: yes, they are cartoons, but parental guidance is recommended. On the same day, from 7 - 8:30 p.m. in the Canzani Screening room, come view the Cinematic Arts/Film & Video Thesis Screening with a Q&A and refreshments to follow.
On May 9 from 5 - 6 p.m., seniors will present their exhibitions in exhibition spaces all around campus. Stop by to meet the members of the class of 2018 and view the fruits of their hard work. Then at 6 p.m., head to the Quad for a Pop-Up Fashion Show. The official 2018 CCAD Fashion Show falls later in the week, but you get the chance to catch a preview glimpse. Plus, if you missed the Animation and Illustration Screenings earlier in the week, you have another shot from 6:30 - 7:15 p.m. in the Canzani Auditorium and Canzani Screening Room. Ditto for the Film & Video Screenings, which will air again from 8:15 - 9 p.m. In between, enjoy the launch of CCAD's literary publication, Boticelli.
All evening long, find:
