Branch Out Earth Day 2016For nearly a decade, Columbus has celebrated Earth Day by working to care for our local environment. Since 2007, you and your neighbors have performed more than 85,000 hours of service, establishing gardens, cleaning the landscape, planting trees and more. This year, the City of Columbus is encouraging us to Branch Out.

The goal of Branch Out is to plant 20,000 trees and to complete a number of other green-themed projects in neighborhoods throughout the city. Choose your project based on its location or the work involved. There’s something for everyone; just click here to see what green activities are available.

The week culminates in an Earth Day celebration on April 23 at Columbus Commons. Enjoy nosh from local food trucks, plus entertainment on the main stage from 1 - 10 p.m. from Kyle Marler, Shazzbots, Salty Caramels, The Ark Band and more. Bring the young ones for kids activities including free carousel rides. You can also peruse booths from local environmental groups.
