If your Friday night Leap Year Eve Eve Eve gets out of hand, Hills Market Downtown can help ease you into Saturday. On the last Saturday of the month, nab a little hair of the dog at their Bloody Mary Bacon Brunch, held from 9 a.m. - noon in the cafe.
For a mere $15, enjoy one of three signature Bloody Marys plus some mouth-watering, thick-sliced bacon with maple dipping sauce and a house-made cheddar drop biscuit served with strawberry pepper jam. You’ll feel you’ve come a long way from the Waffle House hangover cure breakfast, it’s so elegant. Oh, and for the vegetarian crowd, house-smoked tofu is available as a bacon substitute; and gluten-free biscuits are available with advance notice.
All three Bloody Mary options are made with local Watershed Vodka. Hills Own Traditional version lets you choose from up to 15 different garnishes, from the standard olives and celery to out-of-the-box caprese salad and tater tots. The Spicy Wasabli Bloody Mary includes a skewer of dumplings and sushi with a wasabi tobiko rim. And the Bacon BBQ Bloody Mary ups the bacon ante with, well, more bacon and a bacon salt rim.
You don’t need reservations, so roll out of bed and come as you are. You’ll be glad you did.
