One big blow out. One slightly nerve-wracking comeback in a deluge. The Bucks season is off to a 2-0 start, with a huge showdown at Oklahoma looming on Saturday night. If you didn’t manage to finagle a trip to Norman, there are plenty of hot spots downtown where you can join some fellow fans to cheer the men of the scarlet and gray on to victory.
Here is a list of some downtown watering holes where you can find cold drinks, good food and all the football action on TV.
Ringside: Yes, this cozy, historic joint is named for another hard-hitting sport, but you’ll find it pretty easy to watch some football while enjoying their famous, 100 percent Angus beef burgers named after famous boxers. Down a pint and an “Ali” while cheering another pick six by up-and-coming Buckeye legend Malik Hooker. BONUS: If you show a copy of this blog, you can enjoy $3 off your burger.
Cafe Napolitana: Since opening their Alley Bar, everyone’s favorite downtown pizza spot is now a great place to catch Buckeye action all season long. Starting at 6 p.m. on Saturday, you can enjoy half-off on all pizza, drink specials and a game day beer special. Eat a slice or four of delicious pizza and a pop or two, while watching the smooth moves of JT Barrett and Curtis Samuel.
Olivers: If bourbon is your game day go-to, head to Olivers, famed for their burgers, steak and bourbon. With 14 large screen TVs, you won’t miss a down.
Lomonico’s: Great beer, great wine, great prices and homemade deliciousness. Lomonico’s invites you to celebrate the Buckeye victory with them.
Elevator: Enjoy this beautiful historic spot, nab a handcrafted microbrew and some delicious nosh while watching the all the Buckeye action. You can also play some pool or darts during half time (or keep a tagalong non-football fan friend entertained).
Hills Market: If you have an 80-inch tv in your Buckeye-themed media room and plan to invite the gang to watch at home, hit Hills Market for your all of your party needs. You’ll find delicious chips and dip, take-and-bake pizza, beer, wine and more.
