If so, Thurber House offers just the ticket with their An Eerie October Night with James Willis. This night of fun takes place at the Thurber Center on October 26 at 7 p.m.

James Willis' Ohio Lore

Willis stalks all things spooky and strange. He has authored more than a dozen books delving into ghost stories, local lore and the paranormal in Ohio and beyond. At this Thurber House Presents, Willis will discuss his most recent publication, Central Ohio Legends and Lore. In it, he tells the the tales of villains, heroes, ghosts, monsters, Bigfoot-like creatures, UFOs and more. You’ll see the Buckeye state in a new spine-tingling light.

And, Willis knows how to tell a tale. He travels the United States entertaining and educating audiences of all ages. Without a doubt, you won’t want to miss the fear and fun. Whether you buy them in advance or at the door, tickets will run you a mere $15.

Thurber House Ghost Hunt Raffle Fun

In addition, Willis and the good folks at the Thurber House want to make you a winner. Like Willis, James Thurber liked to tell a ghost story. He told his own in “The Night the Ghost Got In” which recounted his experience meeting a ghost one November 17. Put up $5 (five for $20) for a ghost hunt raffle ticket. Then, you and a friend might get the chance to hunt for Thurber’s ghost. He might just decide to make a November 17 return to his old haunts. Plus, all ghost hunt raffle ticket proceeds benefit Thurber House.

And don’t be afraid of parking. You’ll find metered spots on Jefferson Avenue or spots in the lots behind Thurber House and at the corner of Jefferson and Long.
