Beer and Ballet

By Heather Brown | 18 Apr, 2017

Yes, you heard that right—Beer and Ballet. It’s the grand finale of a BalletMet dance contest, Let’s Move Columbus, and you get to help choose the winner at a special event at Columbus Commons this Friday, April 21. Find out what to expect and how this party got started.

Earlier this month, dance contestants submitted their best moves via video to BalletMet, and online voting narrowed it down to three finalists who will perform this Friday at Beer and Ballet at the Columbus Commons. The finalists begin dancing at 5:30 p.m., but before you settle in to watch and help pick the winner, grab some foodtruck nosh and happy-hour priced Platform Beer. There’s even going to be free popcorn from Al’s Delicious Popcorn (while supplies last, of course).

The winner of Let’s Move Columbus! Will receive $500 and tickets to BalletMet’s Romeo and Juliet, which makes its Columbus debut the weekend of April 28-30. During Beer and Ballet, you’ll even get your chance to take in some BalletMet magic with an open rehearsal of Romeo and Juliet starting at 6:30 p.m.

What better way to kick off your weekend? Columbus Commons is the place to be this Friday, and all summer long. You won’t want to miss all the fun coming your way at Downtown’s Playground. Click here for more details and get ready to mark your calendars.
