Clean & Safe A clean and safe environment makes a big difference in Columbus to everyone who works, lives, or visits Downtown. In 2002, Capital Crossroads SID began employing a number of uniformed Ambassadors committed to making Downtown look and feel great. Five years later, after seeing Capital Crossroads' success, property owners created the Discovery SID and began emlpoying uniformed Ambassadors to provide safety services to another part of downtown. Currently, 70 square blocks in the core of downtown are serviced be either Capital Crossroads or Discovery SID ambassadors. Throughout the day and night, Ambassadors provide clean, safe, and hospitality services in the core of Columbus.Capital Crossroads SID Hours of Opertation:
The Safety Ambassador Safety Ambassadors are responsible for providing uniform presence within the boundaries of both the Capital Crossroads Special Improvement District as well as the Discovery Special Improvement District. They serve as goodwill ambassadors and act as a reporting mechanism for various safety concerns such as lighting, graffiti, and pan handling; they assist with escorts, deter unwanted criminal activities, and interact with the homeless for outreach purposes; and they are instrumental in providing information, directions, and assistance to downtown residents, workers, and visitors.This job is an opportunity to keep Downtown Columbus clean and safe while enjoying the outdoors. The job requires candidates to work well independently, though two person teams are often assembled for the completion of a set work schedule. Candidates should be reliable and have a basic understanding of maintenance. Positions start at $10-$11 an hour with a generous benefits package and full uniform offered as well.
